Hampden Park Coach & Minibus Hire: Match Days, Concerts and Big Groups
On a big event day, more than 50,000 people head for one residential corner of Glasgow's Southside. Parking is reserved for residents, roads close, and Hampden has no set-down or pick-up points for cars or taxis.
That is why, on event days, Police Scotland advises fans to use public transport unless they are travelling by organised coach or bus. For groups, a private coach or minibus is one of the officially recommended ways to get there.
Minibus Hire in Glasgow, owned and operated by TravelsRoute Ltd, provides private coaches and minibuses with professional drivers for supporters' clubs, concert groups, hospitality guests and visitors heading to Hampden Park.

How Coach Travel to Hampden Actually Works
For major fixtures, Police Scotland and the stadium publish set approach routes and coach parking for each event. Rival supporters' coaches are usually directed to opposite sides of the stadium, east and west, with parking along streets such as Aikenhead Road, Polmadie Street or Queen's Drive, depending on the match.
A few things follow from that:
- Arrive early. At previous finals, coaches were asked to arrive at least 90 minutes before kick-off, and some car parks closed hours before the game.
- Routes change for every event. Our drivers follow the official travel advice issued for your fixture, not normal-day directions.
- The coach waits nearby, not at the door. Agree the exact boarding point before anyone heads into the ground.
Concerts follow similar principles, with event-specific road closures and a late, simultaneous exit.
Match Day vs Concert Night
Football
- Supporters' clubs leaving from one pub, club or community hall
- Fixed kick-off times, often on weekend afternoons or evenings
- Set routes for each set of supporters
- A quick, organised exit back to the coach
Concerts
- Friends, families and hotel guests from several pickup points
- Mid-week shows are common. Noah Kahan's Hampden date is a Tuesday, so expect rush-hour Glasgow traffic on the way in
- Late finishes and a crowded walk out
- Drop-offs to several homes or hotels at the end of the night
Tell us which you are booking for and we will plan the timings to match.
Supporters' Club Checklist
- Confirm numbers once tickets are allocated, including stewards or organisers
- Choose one meeting point, such as your club, pub or a central car park
- Set departure at least two hours before kick-off for city-centre groups, and earlier on cup final days
- Agree the post-match boarding point and time before arriving
- Name a coach captain with the driver's mobile number
- Brief everyone on bag restrictions and stadium security checks
Send us the fixture, numbers and meeting point, and we will handle the vehicle and the route.
Which Vehicle?
- Up to 8: 8-seat MPV
- 9 to 24: 12, 16 or 24-seat minibus, ideal for small supporters' groups and concert parties
- 25 to 33: 29 to 33-seat midi coach
- 34 to 77: full-size coaches from 49 up to 77 seats, the standard for supporters' clubs
- 78 and above: several coaches running as one convoy, with one plan and one point of contact

Hotels, Airports and Visiting Fans
Fans and concert-goers travelling into Glasgow can combine everything in one booking:
Glasgow Airport → City Centre Hotel → Hampden → Hotel → Glasgow Airport
Bring luggage to the hotel first. Large bags are not allowed in the stadium. We arrange airport transfers from Glasgow and Prestwick airports, with hotel pickups across the city centre, Merchant City, Finnieston, the West End and the Southside.
Travelling to Hampden from elsewhere in Scotland? Our sister site, Minibus Hire in Scotland, covers longer journeys from Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee and beyond.
Corporate and Hospitality Guests
Hampden's hospitality suites host clients and corporate guests for internationals, cup finals and concerts. Hospitality car parks often close an hour before kick-off, so a chauffeur-driven minibus is far simpler than guests driving themselves. A typical plan is Office or Hotel → Hampden Hospitality → Restaurant → Hotel. See our corporate travel service.
Prefer to Mix Rail and Road?
Mount Florida and King's Park stations are both about a five-minute walk from the stadium, but queues after the final whistle can be long. Some groups take the coach both ways for certainty. Others travel in by train and pre-book a coach home from an agreed point away from the station crowds. We can plan whichever suits your group.
Hampden Transport FAQs
Can a minibus drop us right outside Hampden?
No. Hampden has no set-down or pick-up points, and roads close on event days. Our drivers use the official routes and coach parking published for your event.
Do Police Scotland allow coaches on event days?
Yes. Their advice is to use public transport unless travelling by organised coach or bus, and they publish specific coach routes for major fixtures.
How early should a supporters' coach arrive?
Earlier than you think. At previous major finals, coaches were asked to arrive at least 90 minutes before kick-off. We plan departure times around the official advice for each fixture.
Can you take more than one coach for our club?
Yes. Several coaches can run together for 100, 200 or more supporters, with one plan and one point of contact.
Is a driver included?
Yes. Every Minibus Hire in Glasgow booking includes a professional driver, with no hidden costs.
