Glasgow is unusually well served for a city its size, with two airports handling scheduled flights: Glasgow Airport in Paisley and Glasgow Prestwick Airport further south-west. They're not interchangeable, so it's worth knowing which one your journey actually involves before requesting a transfer.
Glasgow Airport (GLA)
Glasgow Airport sits around 8 miles west of the city centre, usually a short run via the M8. It has a single terminal building, which simplifies group collections compared with airports split across multiple terminals — but it also means the drop-off and pickup areas get busy at peak times, so a specific meeting point still matters.
Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK)
Prestwick is roughly 30 miles south-west of the city, used mainly by charter flights and a smaller number of scheduled low-cost routes. Because it's further out, build extra journey time into the plan rather than assuming Prestwick is "basically the same" as Glasgow Airport.
What to send when booking a transfer
- Which airport — don't assume it's obvious from the flight; confirm GLA or PIK explicitly
- Terminal, if relevant, and flight number
- Full pickup address(es) across Glasgow or the surrounding area
- Date and required arrival time for departures, or flight landing time for arrivals
